Home Sweet Home

Tonight I was listening to music on my computer, and “Home Sweet Home” came on. I had to stop reading and just sit there and listen. It used to be my favorite song when I was little. And every time we’d be coming home from Ohio, I’d MAKE my dad play it. I sat here and thought back to those dark nights, and just staring out the window, watching all the headlights pass on the interstate.

Earlier, I got to thinking about my grandma and my grandma’s house. I realized just how much I missed being there. When I was little, I liked being in Ohio, but I desperately wanted to be at home. That’s why I had my dad play the song. Now that I’m older, I love going out there. Just to get away from the busy/craziness that is New Jersey. To just be around ALL my family, and there’s a lot. I have spent so much time out there, especially in my Grandma S’s house, that it’s my second home. I’ve spent most of my Christmas’s out there, more than half of them at Grandma S’s.

I just got to thinking again about a decision I came to last spring. One summer, I just want to go out to Ohio for like two weeks. I’ve never been out there for that long. I just want to go out on my own, spend time out there. But I had to wait until I could drive long distances on my own. Well, next year, I’ll be driving to and from home up here to Syracuse. I figure then next summer I can drive out to Ohio. Although, it’s double the trip. You know what, that sounds like a great plan. I’m going with it! Now I just gotta remember it.
